We're building the platform where AI agents actually run.
Software was built for humans. The next generation is built for agents — and it needs a runtime of its own. Theo exists so that shipping an agent never requires building an AI platform first.
Ship agents, not infrastructure. One runtime — memory, knowledge, guardrails, observability, execution, scale — so the agent is the work, and the platform never is. Open-source primitives; run them yourself or let TheoCloud run them.
Be to AI agents what Vercel became to the web — the default, obvious, developer-respected path, with an open runtime from end to end.
Five principles, non-negotiable.
- 01
Extreme honesty
No invented numbers, no fabricated features. Every claim on this site is auditable. Empty is honest. Fake is death.
- 02
Developer freedom
Your code, your API keys, your data. Self-host if you want it. Walk-away cost: zero.
- 03
DX is the first concern
The journey from `curl install` to `theo deploy` is the product. Minutes from clone to live URL is our top KPI after revenue.
- 04
Disciplined engineering over apparent speed
Test before fix. Honesty before hype. We don't reinvent the wheel. We don't fake certainty.
- 05
Open on the surface, commercial where it matters
Apache-2.0 where it strengthens the ecosystem. Proprietary where it sustains the business. No coercion either way.
Why we exist
Because building an agent should never require building an AI platform first. Today it usually does: an agent framework, a vector database, a memory layer, a monitoring tool, and a generic cloud — five tools that weren't designed for each other, with the developer maintaining the glue. Theo is one runtime instead of that stack — TheoKit to build, TheoCloud to run. One runtime instead of stitching LangChain + Pinecone + Mem0 + LangSmith + Vercel.
DNA — two companies we respect
Theo is a deliberate mix — not a copy of either one.
Vercel
Open infrastructure + `git push` → live. Build and deploy as one thing.
Lovable
Idea to app, in seconds. The input is intent, not boilerplate.
